I am having significant problems with random floats on the taupe threads in season 5 Episode 1 turned twill. No problems with gold, red or white. Have tried weighting, changing tension, weaving onlyninsweet spot, rod behind beam , . The thing that helps most is strumming the taupe threads. Seems they are sticky and stretchy. On baby wolf. Have done turned twill before with no problem. These threads are on shafts 5 to 8. Have jazz bands as well.

Hmmmmm - the only thing that comes to mind is wondering if it was spun properly in the mill. I’m assuming that it feels the same as the other yarn you are weaving with?

I had a similar experience a few years back. All yarn was Brassard 2/8 cotton, 3 colours were just fine but the Natural behaved so oddly like it had an extra twist in it so it kinked up when it came off the bobbin and I had to keep straightening and untwisting and had to be hyper vigilant that little twisted loops didn’t form and catch between warp threads… of course there were a number that went unnoticed on the underside that had to be fixed later. Put me off Natural for many months, but I’m inclined to think it was some issue at the mill. I’ve not had that issue since.
