Jane has been eluding that she may include deflected doubleweave in next years episodes. I love using DDW to make wonderfully thirsty kitchen towels with 8/2 cottons. I can send pictures of my latest effort as email attachments if you’d like but I’m not a social media fan and so don’t use pintrest etc.
Most weavers seem to use DDW as scarves or throws. So I’m writing this now in hopes that if next season hasn’t already been written and/or filmed that it can include a DDW towel project and hemming -which can be a challenge.
And of course to say thank you! For me, Jane’s lessons are about creating curiosity and encouraging experimentation. If we don’t play we don’t learn! Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou
Hi Kathy, DDW is coming your way next year. I’ll have a 4 and 8 shaft version for the episodes. I’ll show its relationship to Monk’s Belt, Huck and M’s & O’s on 4 shafts. I’ll try to do a towel……..I like that idea, it sounds like fun. We can keep the floats to 4 or 6….heck the M’s&O’s that goes out on a date with Huck in the last episode of this season has floats over 5 in a towel and they aren’t a problem at all. I would love see your towels and you can send them to [email protected] with attention Jane on it and I’ll get them.
I’m so glad you are having fun with the PLAY….. :) and you are most welcome :)
Wow, Jane, you rock. Are you doing double weave too next season? or just DDW?
All those amazing towels woven by Arlene Kohut....the "Just Monking Around towels had 6 ends floats and they are glorious. :) I agree, you just don't know until you try something.
I'm so thrilled that the next year's lessons will include double weave (on 4 and 8 I hope). I just finished saying that DW is my next deep dive. Thanks Jane
Oh that sounds so exciting! I will have to live a long time to do all these amazing structures!
