I've made two scarves with 40/2 linen - I used the same cones for both. Within a month, I noticed what almost looks like a bleached spot on one of them. I immediately moved them so they weren't in direct sun, thinking that might be the cause. And now both scarves have multiple spots on them.
Has anyone else experienced this? Does anyone have an idea what is causing it?

have you been wearing them? I wonder if it is a skin product you're using the is causing this.
No, not at all. I find it curious that it is happening on both of them.

I don't think so. They've been hanging up on a wooden display rack in two completely different places. These spots seem to have just appeared and now I'm finding more appearing.
wow, strange...I've woven two projects so far using 4 different colors of the JST 40/2 linen. No fading or spots so far.
The look of the spot seems to me like something was accidentally dropped on the scarves. If it were something in the yarn, I would think that the spots would be in a single thread, and appear in single random places, not in a group of them next to each other. If it was in the yarn, you’d almost have to design the scarf to be the right width to have the picks lined up in the same spot. JMHO
Could it be the washing agent you used? Have you checked other articles of clothing that you have used the laundry product on?
