Hello. I'm wondering if a 70cm Louet reed can be used on 90cm Louet loom and vice versa.
I thought if 2 of Louet looms can share reeds instead of buying more of the same sized reeds, it would be easier.
Has anyone tried different widths reeds on David III by any chance?

Good morning, Leila - you can certainly use your Jane reeds on a David III but not the other way around. They wouldn’t fit in the Louet Jane’s reed frame. Having the narrower frame on the Jane limits you to the width of the reed you choose;-) That being said I do have a 24”, 15 dent reed that I use on my Woolhouse table loom. I sometimes use it on my David 90 when my project doesn’t need the full width of the loom..

Sandra...I just read your reply here and realize we are loom twins with David 90cm and Woolhouse Tools 24" looms...cool
because of the way the hanging beater bar extending down to the lower part of the horizontal rail for the reed, the longer reed cant fit into the Jane. I don't know if the David has the same restrictions or not. On another brand of floor loom I have, the reed holding rails sit in front of the hanging beater so a longer reed can fit into my floor loom. I do like having that versatility to use different length reeds in different sizes of looms. I buy the longest reed and can use in my narrower floor loom.

It sounds great that your narrower floor loom can use longer reed. I contacted Louet and asked if David can use wider reeds, but I didn't get an answer, so I guess I'll figure it out when it arrives. Have a lovely day :)
