A great lesson, once again! I didn’t need placemats, so opted to expand and modify the lesson draft to make tea towels instead. After weaving a few, I guess I needed a change. I love deflected Doubleweave and when Jane mentioned on her video the coincidence that the threading for monks belt is related to the threading of DDW, that got me thinking… and so I resleyed my threading and changed the tie up to a simple DDW draft with 2 blocks and went to town with some random color and weave treadlings on the warp and was super surprised and happy with the patterns that were created. Always fun to experiment. On hindsight and *when* I attempt this again I will change the sett for the 4/8 cotton I used for the weft from 12 to 14 for a little tighter weave. You can find my other weaving experiments from my School of weaving lessons at my Instagram page, @handwovenandhandmade. Wish I could add images!
