If this is covered elsewhere, I apologize. I have not been able to find it anywhere.
I am looking at the Square Dance Runner in the March/April 2023 Handwoven. In the treadling section of the draft, it shows 2 treadles being worked at the same time, but the tie-up for the two treadles is the same.
This is making my head hurt.
Can someone explain what this means or point me somewhere that I should read about this.
The notes say this is based on a pattern from A Weaver's Book of 8-Shaft Patterns.
Thanks, Anne
Anne, I think this is so that when you are raising 7 shafts, the weight is distributed to both legs so as to make the lifting easier.
Thanks Cheryl. That makes perfect sense now.
