I bought some Jagger Merino recently from JST, and I plan to make a tartan scarf with it. I’m looking at it as a challenge, and picturing it being perfect and beautiful (which it most likely won’t be) and our son-in-law will be amazed as it’s his family tartan (Ross clan). I have the draft from Handweaving.net, verified it with the Scottish Tartan Registry, so I’m almost ready to dive in. My question is what reed and sett should I use? The yarn says 18-24, and I want it nice and drapy.

Anyone out there have experience with any of this? I’m a bit afraid I’ll get it wrong. I’ve not made anything in this fine a gauge yarn before, so I suspect I’ll be weaving for a very long time on this project. 😂

My thoughts are - it all depends on how much you will full it 😉and …will it come back to you for gentle care after it’s ready for washing.
