Happy Valentine’s, all—
I have some 16/4 linen that I picked up at a yard sale and am wondering if it can be used for warp with M Brassard boucle as weft?
Many thanks!
Adrian
This is the info I found doing a web search:
16/4 normandy linen
This linen is extremely strong, making it an excellent warp yarn for multiple use and heavier textiles — towels, clothing and vessels that will be worn, used and washed. It’s also excellent rug warp. Also available in weights 16/6 and 40/2.
loom types: frame loom, rigid heddle loom, floor loom
suggested epi: 4-10
Sounds like it's a pretty heavy duty yarn. You would probably be best to weave a few samples with different sets and wash and dry them and see how they feel.
