Thank you Kit
They are all the same I just changed the treadling order
On the A units it was 5,6,7,8,7,6 and repeated them
For the B units it was 1,2,3,4,3,2,1 , 4, 1,2,3,4,3,2,1
I hope that makes sense
This is my first scarf on my table loom using Season 5 Episode 8. As I currently am weaving the Season 6 Episode 9 8 shaft lace scarves on my floor loom using un-dyed silk warp and weft, I chose to use a colored gold 20/2 silk weft from my stash on this scarf. It is beautiful. I think I will use alternating stripes of black silk and the un-dyed silk on the next scarf on this loom. Weaving is very fast as the pattern is so easy to see on the cloth as I'm weaving.
Hi Cheryl, technical question. Did you establish an account with imgbb or do you just use it as a pass-through? When I upload photos, I am only offered a "Viewer Link" option, no the "Direct Link" option as suggested in the FAQs here on the school website.
Here's my first double weave project. It's done in 2/2 twill. It took me a while to wrap my brain around doing it in twill, but it now makes sense to me. Double weave is so amazing!
I just remembered (and looked again) that this is twill. And you have to do twill on 8 shafts, right?
I zoomed in and I am in awe of your fold! I am getting better at folds but it is still easy to slip and get a bit too much draw in.
Did you design this yourself or is there a draft out there? I would love to make this pattern in some colors that I have. I have a hard time designing a decent plaid.
The fold is the 4 thread white stripe in the center. It is thinner than the other 4 thread stripes, but that's okay with me. I think the twill and the plaid patterns distract you from the fold line and it's not as noticeable. The pattern is based on a picture of a scarf pattern I had and I just estimated the number of each warp and weft threads. This was my first 8 shaft pattern and I purposely made it symmetrical so that the threading was easier. I thought it would be really hard for me to do this pattern, but it wasn't. I have all the pattern details in an Excel file. Is there a way to private message on this forum? Otherwise, I can just take snapshots of it and post it here.
Here's a scarf I made using the same plaid pattern in different colors and scaled down (except I warped an extra white stripe in error. Ugh!) The plan was to do the blanket in these colors, but the Loeden was out of stock and I gave up waiting and picked new colors.
I just finished my first ever weaving project, a set of 4 tea towels. 2/8 cotton in plain weave, 18epi 18 ppi.
Having finished that, I just put a new warp on the loom for a couple of scarves: 2/8 cotton twill 20epi 20ppi. Basically doing this first one as a sampler with lots of different treadlings to see all the different patterns i can draw out of twill.
