I neglected my Jane for years while I mainly wove on my floor looms. Decided to finally weave off the warp on it, which was generally successful until I got to the bitter end of the warp and experienced warp beam brake slippage. In short, it wouldn't hold tension. I finally used clamps to force it to while I finished my towel. The warp was only about 3" past the back. Is this expected behavior in the Jane? Is there some physics voodoo I'm not considering? With my floor looms, I can weave until the warp is literally right up against the heddles. Like I said, it has been a long while since I used it.
TIA for any insights.
