I really don't want to sell my Spring I but because of the nearly non-existent shed I may have to. I have tried everything that I can think of to get the nice large shed I see on Jane's loom. The best I have been able to get is about a two inch shed in which the upper threads are likely to be caught when throwing the boat creating unwanted floats. Before I hang the for sale sign on the loom, can anyone share tips and tricks they used on their looms to improve the shed. Any and all help would be appreciated.

I'm sure post Holidays you will get more help. I think Jane and crew are on vacation.
What was your checklist ?

When all else fails, you could email Dave at Louet. He's very helpful.

To be sure, have you checked the heights of your shafts? I emailed Dave to see if it was okay to remove those side roller bits on the side of harnesses that fit into the next texsolv hole if I run out of roll (sorry, I don't know the technical terms and too lazy to look up the manual). He said yes. But check your heights and when checking the heights, make sure you have the measurements for Spring 1 not 2. They are listed here and on the Louet site.

He used a warping stick with the measurements for lower, upper lamps and harness top and bottom with a marker (vertically) than used that against each shaft to assist him. I hope this makes sense.

Hi there……I will help you next week. I’d go in today and take measurements of everything but I’ve had the worst cold I’ve had in years since Christmas Day…I look like Rudolf, LOL. The best thing you can do to help me is send me pictures of your loom with the blocking pin in. I want full frontals, haha, the treadles as they are tied up now….what your warp looks like coming from the back. I want to see if your shafts are even and parallel with the blocking pin in. Some side shots of the pegs would be good to.

I wanted to take a moment of your time to say the hughest thank you. It is such a pleasure to weave on my Spring now. I am getting a decent shed with Jane's and her team's help. It was invaluable. I just finished a color gamp that was a pure joy to weave. A first with my Spring. I am planning my next project and can't wait to get it warped on Daffodil aka Spring I!
