I have never done this myself but I do know many weavers who have and they have put 2 ends in a 6 dent reed. If you are at all nervous I would try a small sample :)

What really kinda busted my britches. Was in the mohair recipe my reed is exactly 45 wide and a #6.I have a counter marche from Norway. I just can’t warp my blanket all the way to the ends like that.So Im taking the obvious route…Im making at a little more narrow. I was thinking of doing a double weave with the mohair but I think it would be a huge PIA. So I stopped thinking of that idea and went back to a narrower warp. I LOVE my. Harrisville double width shawl.So beautiful after fulling.Love,Ann

Hi Ann, I’m so glad you are enjoying the videos, that makes me very happy. I have woven many blankets with a Shetland warp and a mohair weft….if you enjoyed the double weave with Harrisville you could use that for your warp and mohair for the weft and get a lovely wide blanket.
