I just finished setting up my countermarch loom and I am ready to weave. My shed is very clean but I had to move the beater back closer to the shafts to get the shed as wide as could be. All fine and dandy, except my shed seems to be so tight.
This is my third warp on the loom and the shed always seems to be tight. As I am writing this, I think tight may not be the correct description. I think I mean that the shed is not as wide as I think it should be. I can throw a narrower Schacht shuttle through it.
Countermarch is new to me , so I am sure there are things I am not considering that I could alter to get a wider shed.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Tricia, All counter-marche looms are different and I only know the Louet parallel counter-marche. It sounds like your's is a traditional counter-marche if you can move the beater back. I would try releasing the tension on the warp a tad to see if this improves your shed.
Hope this helps.
