I noticed you use tesloft heddles most of the time. I have them on one loom and they seem to stick. Any suggestions?
What loom do you have them on? Jane uses Texsolv heddles on her Louet looms, that's what they come with. She does have other looms like a Leclerc and a Schacht which use metal heddles.
It is counter ( march or balance) loom that was made in Norway 40-50 years ago. maybe I just need to sand or polish the shafts some when it is empty. I bought it for $400., thought it was a steal.
I’m guessing that it originally came with metal heddles. Some looms aren’t happy with Texsolv but the main thing you need is to have the heddles fit neatly onto each shaft - no sagging or only a tiny, little bit. Have you measured the distance between your shaft bars and also the length of your heddles? Jane sells different length heddles to fit different looms. Also, your idea of cleaning up the shafts might help.
I have a Mighty Wolf and am wondering if the metal heddles could be replaced by Texsolv heddles. I've seen a table with sizes needed for various looms and it did list the Mighty Wolf, so I assume it is possible. I think having the Texsolv heddles would be lighter and quieter. Has anyone done this and if so, did you like the results? Were there any downsides?
It has to have texsolv heddles, there are no shaft bar. I will measure though, that is a goof idea. Thank you.
