Hello Jane
You mentioned in the huck episode that sometimes it is better to make longer floats when working with very fine threads. It makes the pattern show better.
Can it work also with Atwater bronson lace, if the tiedown of the unit is always shaft two?
Will a longer float may distort the lace? ( those beautiful little windows?)
Thank's
Alon Ophir
Hi Alon, It works with Bronson Lace as well. Imagine working with a fine silk at 50 or 60 EPI....a 6 end unit would be so tiny...so I would make it an 8 end unit...but you always have to sample these things to know just how far to go. It would be 8 ends in the threading and the treadling.
For example....13131312 or 14141412. I have done silks up to 30 EPI with 6 ends floats and they are just fine.
Thank You!!! :-)
Alon
