Hi,
I have purchased some cones of harrisville shetland from an estate sale of a late and prolific regional weaver and harrisville dealer. I have been winding the partial cones onto balls using a ball winder to look for breakage and so far only 1 of 5 had any damage.
Is there any reason not to wind this off into cakes if it's going to end up on bobbins?
Note that some of this is very old, priced $4-6 per cone US.
Thanks,
Julia
