I am considering buying an electronic bobbin winder and Jane recommends the LaCcerc on her shopping site. Etsy seller makes one that includes an electronically controlled foot pedal which he says is easier to control than the mechanical one. Has anyone had experience with this? Also should all electronically bobbin winders be able to wind pirns? thanks, Diane

I’m afraid that I find specialist bobbin winders extortionate!
I would suggest you consider using a cordless electric drill, with an appropriately sized drill bit! (I wrap my drill bit with paper to get it to grip the bobbin properly.
If you’re winding the cardboard pirns, then I just grasp them in the drill directly!

I started off using my husbands Makita but have subsequently bought my own lighter- weight one from Amazon for around £30 gpb.
(Ps - it also works as a screwdriver for when you’re assembling looms etc!) 😁

I highly recommend adding a double ended electric bobbin winder. I’ve had mine for decades. Double ended means you can wind bobbins, pirns , spools etc. you’re not limited to specific diameters or lengths.
