Hello! I’m still getting used to my new Jane loom, and I have noticed when all the levers are down the warp rests nicely just above the shuttle race, but when I start lifting levers the lower part of the shed raises a bit as well. I think this may be contributing to the skips I’m getting. Is this supposed to happen?

It is also possible, nay probable, that I’m not getting optimal tension or advancing the warp to the right distance from the beater. Any advice would be appreciated!

Hi Sarah,
Just looking at your pictures, it is sitting a smidge higher than I remember on my Jane Loom. Are the shafts sitting at the right height? I can't recall the measurement they are suppose to be at.

The reference measurements I could find were outdated because they’ve made the legs of the loom taller so the shuttle race has better clearance when the beater swings. I’ve got the shafts as far down as they can go before they hit the black rollers underneath.

Hi
I was wondering if you were able to get to the cause of this issue. I bought a Jane without a shuttle race and used it for a project and all was fine. I then decided I would get a race. However, when I fitted it I had a very similar shed to that in Sarah's photo. As a result of this I removed the shuttle race and just threw the shuttle over the warp threads. I would like to be able to use the race as it can be time consuming and not much fun to extract the shuttle when on the odd occasion it drops through the warp.
