September is here! What fun projects are you planning to weave next?

I am not new to weaving, but my knowledge and skills are quite fragmented. I joined JST quite recently, and I’m so excited about it! I’m eager—so eager—to jump straight to the topics I’m most excited about, yet I force myself to work through the material in order. But sometimes I cheat a little! For instance, I’m currently working on a project that combines Denting* and Collapse weave. It’s a wrap with a cotton-linen warp and a wool weft.

I’ve also realized that an unexpected—yet frequent and generous—source of color inspiration is my own socks!

Well this project is now actually on the loom. It's a tartan knee throw. However in order to get it on the loom initially inspired me to embark on the 'dreaded project' - that is I finally decided to make a warping trapeze.
Much cogitating later ...... I ended up constructing a scaffolding which can be erected and broken down easily. It will fit on any of my looms and can be readily extended to greater heights and wider widths (or narrow as the case may be). It doesn't require me to use screwdrivers or wrenches for it to be constructed.
I found that it was a breeze to get the warp on to the loom with a good firm tension - although I have to get used to the amount of hanging weight on the warp that I use - the first attempt was a bit like trying to move a dead weight.
Now I look forward to putting on a long warp, unaided by a 'warping buddy' or having to string warp out of the room and into the kitchen.
