Greetings, I am interested in purchasing the linen tea towel kit advertised in todays email, for Christmas towels. I am wondering if Jane has a video in her teachings on this kit. It is for the Victorian style tea towels. Thank you, Judith
40/2 linen tea towels......
Hi Judith
Unfortunately we do not have a video relating to that specific kit as it is not a part of the school of weaving.
Sorry about that. Please reach out if you have any other questions.
Thanks
so before I buy this kit, is there anything I might need to know about dealing with 40/2 linen threads? I have only used 8/2, 8/4 cotton and boucle to this point. thank you.
My only concern would be if you had metal heddles on your loom. We have found that they can cause some issues especially with selvage tension. Other than that you should be just fine, it is a little more delicate than cotton so just watch your tension.
Thank you. So would the tension be concerning breakage on the warp, or mainly with the weft? .....so just tamping lighter??
Breakage on the warp, it is as strong as cotton just a finer thread so just needs to be handled with a little more care. It is a wonderful material im sure you will have a great time with it.
