Hope everyone is having a lovely start to June! Show us what you are weaving or what are you designing!
What's on Your Loom - June 2026
I'm just getting into S3 E8 Simple Supplementary Warp. Jane's examples look so amazing I am eager to see what I can come up with. I will have a challenge because I am on a Fanny CB but I think I can manage with a direct tie up.
I was also excited for the S3 E8 Simple Supplementary Warp and prepared an 8 yard warp. I used 16/2 cotton for both warp, supplementary warp, and weft. So far I have woven a test and one scarf.
Some notes:
- I am always drawn to colour change work, so that is what I tried. I think the pattern repeat made more sense in my head and did not fully translate to the scarf.
- There was alot of slack (about 5") in my supplementary warp threads after washing which I had to pull out before twisting the fringe.
- This scarf would have been elevated by using silk for the supplementary warp and weft. In 16/2, the effect is more muted.
- I struggled with my selvedges and wonder if it is due to all of the colour changing which prevented me from getting into a rhythm.
- I did my tie-up in walking style with all the 1s on the left side and all of the 2s on the right side which help me from getting lost. This scarf and my complicated repeat still required alot of concentration though!

I like the drape and texture of the 16/2 cotton at 20 EPI/20 PPI and think the scarf looks much better worn!

As always, I had emotional support throughout the process :)

Beautiful color changes and weaving.
