I have a 4 shaft 6 treadle loom. I only have 2 treadles currently attached to the shafts to do a basic up down weave. The other 4 treadles are not attached to anything. Is that the way it is supposed to be.Is there another way they should be set up. If I do a pattern how do I know how to set up the treadles. This is the way the loom came to me and was just used for weaving rugs. Total beginner here other than weaving rugs and simple weave. Thank you

Have you watched season 1 and 2 for starters? Very helpful. I took a couple of semesters at a local extension class but forgot most shortly after having purchased an old loom. I never got the hang of winding a warp or dressing the loom in class.

The loom sat for about a year or two until I found Jane:) It gave me the confidence to restart again.

Every year, the classes get more complex but you don't have to try it all but it's pretty cool how it progresses--the threadings and your abilities.
