This started late last night (ok it was 10:30pm, but it was a long day). I am doing the "My Very Peri Perfect Towels" from Handwoven November/December 2022 on page 71. I calculated the warp for making more then 3, got the loom set up and set up the treddles. So I finish the hem and begin the pattern sequence. I'm using the skeleton tie up option, as I'm on an 8 shaft david and don't have a loom with 12 treddles.

So I noticed that the pattern would be upside down, I forgot to convert from rising to sinking shed. So I did, but things got weird. If I treddle it, tied up the opposite from the rising shed, I get no shed. All 8 shaft will go down. So at 11:30pm last night I went into the 8 shaft pattern book by Carol Strickler which is where the towel author got the draft and it's very different from the towel pattern. I was hoping maybe I could convert the rising shed in the book, but it seems like that is going to take a bit of work to get it down to 8 treddles (I need the remaining 2 for plain weave).

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should do and how to go about it? I think this pattern is the exception to the rule of just tying up the opposite treddles to convert a rising to a sinking shed.

Turns out Jane gave me the tools and I didn't realize it. I decided to get some graph paper and just do a drawdown on paper to see what the sinking shed would need to be. Looking at Fiberworks with my new AHA moment, it looks like it should. Now I'm going to tie up the loom and see if it works in practice. Stay tuned.
