This is probably a very silly question, but I am going to reveal my ignorance anyway :)

I am very interested in weaving ribbons to make towel hangers, xmas gift wrappings, shoe laces etc.
I am seeing a lot of pattern drafts out there for inkle looms/tablet weaving/rigid heddle weaving/backstrap, etc., but am I right that these bands are mostly warp facing designs in either plain weave or twill? They can basically be done on any floor loom and that I don't need specialized equipment? I recognize that the floor loom might be a bit "overkill" for a narrow band, but I would rather not buy equipment if I don't have to.

If you do weave narrow bands, I am curious about your equipment strategy. Do you have specialized equipment or do you weave them on floor/table looms?

I’ve woven narrow bands on a hand-made inkle loom, quick to weave on and more efficient use of yarn. However, I could weave them on my table loom - just never have. I like to keep my shaft looms busy with other projects 😉
