I made my double wit blanket last summer for my son’s wedding gift. I didn’t hem stitch it at the time because I didn’t know how to do this with double width cloth. Now I am getting it ready to enter it into our state fair and I don’t live how the warp has spread. Can I add a weft of brushed mohair to hem stitch this? Or a blanket stitch? Or leave it? Since I have successfully hem stitched my cloth off the loom, before I treat the fringe and fulling process. I want to present the best look to the judges.
Hem Stitching After the Fact! Help Needed
It looks perfectly beautiful to me!! Leave it as is.
Thanks Cheryl, that makes my life a lot easier! I'm fairly happy with the whole thing. I washed it a few days ago, after helping my son recover from covid last fall after their wedding and they were driving back on a scenic long trip from NY to Iowa. Poor boy.
Now, I have just taken a machined hem out of a large twill gamp towel that I made using several threading (from the season 4? or was it 3?) to replace it with hand hemming. I made a little rug a month ago from season 3 or 4. Probably a combo of those 2 classes. Its 12x24 and gifted to my new to be born grandniece. I had to go around and collect a scarf and a shawl in the collapse weave from season 3. I will take pics and post them shortly. I am proud of my efforts :) I don't mind if I don't get ribbons, I just love displaying weavings for others to see and be inspired by something they notice, even if its not a ribbon winner. Our state fair is very big and its fun to see entries. Our guild is encouraging all to enter.

8/2 Cottalin Twill Towel, navy and tan and white. This isn't the one going to the fair cause it has a float and 3 treadling errors. Its mate will go as there are no floats and only 1 treadling error that I see.

Collapsed weave silk and merino. Made a mistake in the warping, with a narrower merino strip than the rest, Ooops.

Beautiful Barbara. The mistakes keep us humble LOL.
