Should a temple be used when weaving with linen

I am preparing my first 100% linen project. I will be weaving yardage of plain weave. Is the use of a temple recommended when weaving with linen? I am concerned the temple will damage/snap salvage threads.

In my world - I can’t remember when I last used a temple, many years I think. I love weaving with linen and I’ve never woven it using a temple.

My experience is the same as Sandra. If you are using quality linen, such as the 40/2 wet spun linen that Jane sells, you should have a great experience. No need to wet down the bobbins etc.
