I've been looking for a reed substition chart for European/metric reeds because I have Louet reeds but couldn't find it. I'm wondering if anyone made it or know where to find it.
There's a significant difference in some cases.

For example,
If one sleys 2-3 with a 8dent reed, you'll get 20epi.
However, with a 30-10 reed, which is the closest to a 8dent, sleying 2-3 will result in 19.04epi.
That is 1 thread less every inch!! (I have an accouting degree from SFU, so forgive me for being detailed ;)
So, in this case, the best way to sley is 2-3-3, then you'll get 20.31epi. Only 0.31 thread more per inch.

Anyway, I hope you get why I want a Reed Substition chart for European reeds.
I am half way creating one, but I thought I could spend my time petting my dog instead if such a chart already exists, so I decided to ask here. haha

Excel, a little time and a tiny mathematical brain are all that's required. Thank you :)

I’m hoping this cut and paste works.
Vav weaving magazine has imperial/metric conversions. Page two has reed info at the bottom.
The info @ the bottom is from Glimakra.
Oh, I forgot where are read this - I’ll search my clutter but I skimmed something about a preference for weaving in metric … sorry. Not helpful since I can’t recall the reasoning.

I agree that 30/10 reed is the closest to the 8dent reed. 40/10 closest to 10dent reed, and so on.
The thing is that my acccounting mind is concerned about the small differences becoming big differences when we start using the Substitution chart made for US reeds.

In order to get 26epi using a 8 dent reed, one would sley 3-3-3-4.
The chart is correct for the US reeds, but the issue is that a 30/10 reed is only CLOSE to but NOT THE SAME as a 8dent reed.
So, if we sley 3-3-3-4 using a 30/10 reed.....we'll get 24.76epi. Not close at all to 26epi we were aiming for.
What's needed here is to sley 3-3-4 to get 25.39epi or to sley 3-4 to get 26.66epi, but the US substitution chart doesn't have this information.
That's why I was looking for a chart that shows the accurate epi resulting from using European reeds instead of using the chart made for US reeds.
