I will do the pattern Twill &Grace placemat and at the beginning I must weave 2.5 inch of plain weave and afte I continue with the twill pattern and finish withe 2.5 inches of plain weave
my problem is the plain weve is wider than the twill so when I will do the finition
do you have a trick to weave a piece with 2 structures and have the same wide on your piece

Hello Marie,
I was the weaver and designer of those place mats, and while I did weave some with plain weave hem allowances, I too found that the plain weave pushed out more than I wanted, even when woven with 8/2 rather than 8/4 cotton. Try switching to weaving straight draw twill in those areas (with the 8/2 cotton). You'll like the result. Happy weaving!
It 's what I have done with my second placemat and it is ok I weave with basic twil 1,2,3,4 and the wide is the same
