How fitting that my next sample in the weaving school is Parrot. I have these lovely spring colors on my brand new Spring II loom! I'm using a 12 dent reed, sleyed 1,2,1,2 etc. I did the hemstitching in bouts of 4. Perhaps I tug the loop around the threads a little too tight when I hemstitch, I'm always worried that the ends won't stay put if my hemstitching is too loose. After completed the first biggest square, this gap still hasn't settled out.

Is there something I can do to resolve this? Or do we expect that that the wet finishing will eliminate this gap?

It looks like you have an empty dent, Meridee. Can you double check that????

I does look like an empty dent. Doesn't look like a broken thread as your threading in the reed looks rhythmic as it should, 1,2,1,2,etc..

Ok I thought that I could recover from the skipped dent by filling in with an extra thread, but now that I’m at the loom I realize that I’d need to put in 2 ends in order to not disrupt the plan weave, and also I don’t have any spare heddles in the middle of this warp.

What to do?

If you haven’t gone far I would really as it doesn’t look like you are very far from right side end.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I decided that since this first part of the warp is to be the Parrot sample, that I would just continue on and not fret about it. It's a good thing that I did continue on, because it wasn't until I got into some lighter colorways that I realized that I ALSO have a sleying error in the first section which is the large section of Peacock. This time it's too many threads in a dent. These are good learning for me; especially to look REALLY closely at your header and to use a good contrast color for the header.
I am also using this warp to simply get used to this new loom. I have only had a Jack loom, and oh my Elizabeth wasn't kidding when she told me how much easier the Spring will be to treadle! But I am practicing my beat, checking seledges, etc. I'm almost done with the sample, then I will cut off carefully and re-sley to fix those mistakes. Then on to some playing to make some Parrot towels! The optical blending in this color combination is amazing; it was a pleasant surprise since I hadn't noticed the blending in Jane's videos. :-)
