I just completed the Bronson Spot lesson in Season 5, Laces and loved it. So much so that I am warping up the Abalone & Ebony towel and scarf project. The draft for this includes floating selvedges. Is that a designer's choice for neater selvedges? The Bronson Spot lesson doesn't include floating selvedges, and looking through the Abalone and Ebony pattern, they don't seem necessary.

Thanks so much for the confirmation. I'm going to go without them, because I enjoyed the freedom of Bronson Spot after a few floating selvedge twills.

I often forget to put in floating selvages. And if I decide to treadle a twill on a plain weave threading I just go around those last threads and it works fine.
