I want to try and weave the Season 5 Huck Scarf woven in the Bambu. I want to weave it in 8/2 cotton since I have this right now, but how can I substitute? Maybe sley 2 per dent rather than 1,2 and increase the width? Any suggestions please.

You certainly can substitute and increase the width! Depending on your reed - 1,2 might not be the right sett. If you were using that denting with 8/2 cotton using a 10 dent reed - your sett could be a bit too open for the cotton. Thanks Sandra, I did check the master chart. Its sorta a toss up. I increased to 197 epi and doing a 10 dent reed sley 2 per dent. I am warping ahead and anxious to see how it goes. This will be using my levers on my loom as I only have 4 treadles for my table loom conversion. Why on earth they didn't create 6 treadles! My feet will be going nuts trying to help. Sally
You can do it! I wove 9 tea towels on my Woolhouse table loom as Christmas presents - no treadles - I find I get into a rhythm with the leavers, just as my feet do on my David.
Hi Sally, Sandra is right you don't want to make it 20 epi. If you have an 8 dent reed I would use that 2 per dent or any reed that would allow you to get around 16 epi. This will make your warp a little narrower to I would add some extra units lace units if you want to keep your width. When you look at page 6 of the pdf you will notice that there is a section repeated 8 times...you could increase that to 9 or 10 times....which would mean you would be added either 10 or 20 warp threads. There are 10 threads in that section...so if you repeat it one more time it's 10 ends...and if you repeat it twice it will be 20 ends. Hope this helps, Jane

Well the sucker is warped and I added more tabby on the ends almost 200 epi, and I am actually going to do 1/2 sley because this is 8/2 cotton and I look at the towels I weave and there is good shrinkage whereas the project bambu probably has much less. Anyway I am going full steam ahead, playing with my periwinkle cotton. I have a 10 and 15 dent reed but I see often that an 8 dent would be a nice addition.
I have a new 11 week old now yorkie puppy who is no angle and is very interested in the loom. The treadles would be chaos so having levers will be perfect till the most stubborn puppy in the world is older. Thank, Sally
