I have managed muck up the attachment point on each side of the frame of the beater bar on my baby wolf. The nut on each bolt keeps loosening as I weave. I take the beater assembly off when I thread my heddles so I can get closer to my work, because of my eyes, and somehow I've managed to not get the order of the washers back on correctly. If someone has a Schacht floor loom and would be willing to describe the order of the washers, especially, or take a picture, I would appreciate it. Many thanks!

I have a Baby Wolf also and I just finished threading my heddles. Like you I remove the beater bar in order to get closer thus making the process easier. My setup is a bit different from yours but I think I may see why you’re having the problem with the bolts becoming loose when you’re weaving. The bolts are have a square fixture just between the screw part and the round head which fits squarely into the frame of the beater bar. The smooth side of the washer goes next to the wood after the screw is fully inserted into the beater bar. My loom came with wing nuts and those go next. It snugs up nicely and doesn’t give any problems. I think perhaps you are not inserting the screw “squarely” into the beater bar and so in effect it is not going in all the way which makes it vulnerable to vibration and thus slippage. Having a “nut” as opposed to the wing nut shouldn’t make any difference. I think it isn’t seeding fully into the slot and that may be causing the problem.

Thanks, Fatarae, I’ve wondered about the square base of the bolt not seating itself. I bought wing nuts, thinking it would be easier to remove the beater for threading. I swapped them back out for the regular nuts, but I don’t think they are the problem. I’ll take it apart and see if I can get the bolts to slide home, so to speak.
