Choosing a table loom

I have a large floor loom which I weave rugs on. After weaving for a couple of years now I am ready for a loom that I can do towels and really nice stuff on. My floor room is just not suited for that. I am looking for some input on what people use and the pros and cons about each. Before I buy, I want to know what I am getting into.

I have an 8 shaft, 32" Ashford. It's my first loom, and likely all I'll ever have room for. I don't have much to compare it to, but one thing I don't love is that it doesn't have a shuttle race (so I use very slow stick shuttles), and the actual space to weave in before you need to advance seems pretty small. I like the number of shafts and width, and it's easy to fold up with a project on. It's fine, but I might suggest looking at that stuff if you're comparing options...maybe not super helpful, but thought I'd add my two cents and see if we can start a discussion!

I am coveting a 16 shaft Ashford table loom because I have been inspired by the work of Amanda Cutler who designs intricate drawing patterns using 16 shafts. She created a race for her Ashford table loom by simply attaching a lease stick with two elastics to hang down under her warp.. Others have tried it and love it. She is on Ravelry, her name there is cutler070805. If you search through her posts, you will find photos of the race she made.

My table loom (on a stand) is an 8 shaft Woolhouse Tools. I love this loom, but HATED not having a shuttle race. I was actually preparing to sell it this year...then my husband made a shuttle race for me. It was a simple piece of square wood (around 1.5") that he cut to the length I needed. Then I finished it and we attached it to the beater at just the right height and now I LOVE this loom.
