How many times have I said “everything on 4 shafts is related”, probably a gazillion times….well…, I’m saying it again. Earlier this year, Barbara Mitchell created our first look at stunning Cannelé, that amazing style of weaving where wonderful wavey lines sit on top of a bed of plain weave.
While we worked on that episode, we both saw the connection to several other 4-shaft twill unit-based structures. It became obvious that it was time to take them out on a date with each other…so in this episode, Cannelé gets to hang out with Halvdrall, Overshot, Monk’s Belt and Huck. Barbara has created 2 stunning warps that allow us to explore their shared similarities and marvel at the power of the 4 shaft loom.
