We are so blessed to have Elisabeth Hill back with us this year to do another episode on Deflected Double Weave, designing with an emphasis on thick and thin, our theme for much of this season.

Lisa nailed ‘texture’ in this episode. The main project uses our Organic Cloud Cotton for the thick yarn and our very fine Baby Alpaca for our thin yarn in both warp and weft. The finished textile is absolutely amazing. It is always fun to pair yarns that you might not think belong together…this combination pushes that envelope.

The other exciting aspect to this episode is learning about the skeleton tie-up for 8 Shaft DDW that can be used on a countermarche loom or regular Jack loom. Learning how to use this tie-up gives you access to every single block combination possible without needing a gazillion treadles. For those of you that love your block play, it is a game changer. And for those of you looking for texture and simple graphic, we have the gorgeous use of plainweave on the cushion backs.
