🧶 What’s on your loom, or what are you dreaming of warping up next?
Share your latest projects below—we’d love to see what you’re working on!
I’m still amassing the yarn to make my coat fabric. I’m getting more motivated after making a small swatch.
It’s all handspun in the warp, and Harrisville Shetland for the weft. When i actually wind the warp, it will be more randomized.
Oh I remember your plans for a coat! Love the colours of your sample.
Thanks, Ginette! It’s a ginormous project, but I’m excited about it.
I'm interested in using my handspun for weft, eventually. I'll be following your progress! :-) Gorgeous colors!
Thanks, Julia! I will be happy to share my journey. Still a bit more spinning to do, but stay tuned! 😉🥰🐵
What's on my warping board? ;-) I am warping Felicia Lo's Radiant Towels, to help me understand warping with more than one thread in my hand after completing but being frustrated by Jane's 2.4 navy/ cream/apricot warp for the gamp. (The warp is chained but not on the lease sticks yet.)
The basic idea is to warp with 6 colors, 3 at a time, in each of 7 sets, for hand towels. This will go on the Jane loom while the spring will host the 2.4 gamp. It is a short warp and I need the practice.
I am working on the Cramming and Denting, silk on linen. I'm getting better every yard. Linen has been a little tricky with several broken warp threads (but good practice to fix those) and I realized that letting up the tension a bit helped. I'm finding the silk weft easier than the linen, mostly because of more yards under my belt with the technique. To help with the warp tension, I retied after the first scarf, it made a huge difference and I haven't had the variation in tension or issues with selvedges on this scarf that I did on the first. Lots of learning going on here! I love it.
I am so very, very new - have been watching the season one videos, taking notes, prepping a huge binder for use in my studio. SO many things to learn (been spinning fine fiber yarns for almost 30 years now)...four shaft Norwood is my new-to-me loom. Excited and frightened to start on an actual warp and weaving next week. I feel enormously weird about being scared to take on this new venture - were any of you here emotionally at one time?
I've got my warp all measured for the 1st project for this month's JST School of Weaving Episode. Light half is undyed 22/2 cottolin, dark half is two similar but different blue cottolins held together while warping.
My dear niece asked if I could make a bolster cover instead of a cushion cover. I'm going to make one for her and one for me.
My Cotton Cloud colors are Chili, Curry and Ocean, and a little bit of Natural left over from the Eco Jean scarf kit.
My goal is to get this wound on, threaded and the weaving started before my first cataract surgery on April 6.

Very nice Julia! Is that green, yellow and rust in the centre section?
