I am getting a used Louet Jane 40 cm 8 shaft loom. Seller has a second warp beam. I have been weaving 2 years, and intend to do all of JST classes and more. Should I get the second warp beam? Has anyone used it? Do you like it? Anything I should know about it? Is it easy to use?I have not yet done a supplementary warp or weft yet, but know I will someday! Thanks for your insight!

You sound very motivated and have set goals for future weaving so I say go ahead and get it. I have a second beam but have only used it once to make looped towels ( terry cloth) and haven’t used it since. You can always sell it later on if you don’t find yourself using it. Happy weaving!
How did you like using it? Any reason for not using it again? Thanks!

It was great for feeding two different fibres at the same time ie: 16/2 & 8/2 cotton since the take up was different. I haven’t needed to use two back beams since weaving the towels.
