Are floating selvedges necessary when weaving overshot? I have enough trouble weaving with two shuttles without adding FS if not necessary.
Hi Barbara, floating selvedges do help with your edges in Overshot, it makes them neater. I would make the warp with floating selvedges, weave without tying them on to start and see if the selvedges look ok. If so, keep going and leave those two threads hanging on the back of the loom. At least they are there in case you prefer using them :)
