Hi
I am having a blank/senior moment. I am currently warping for the turned twill tea towels, episode 5, what do I have to change to put them onto my 8 shaft table loom ? I really don’t want put it onto my mighty wolf because I have back issues, read broken back here, ( fine now!) and don’t want to go under my loom for so many changes
I’m assuming you know how to read a draft?
Tie up box, treadling sequence
So instead of treadles tied to lift or sink shafts when you press with your foot, you are activating each lever to raise the shafts associated with the tie up, directly above it in the tie up box.
for example : first mark in treadling is associated with shafts 1567in the tie up box. You would flip the levers that would raise 1567Then throw your shuttle and beat. Then the next mark in treadling shows 2568 you would unflip 1567 levers and flip 2568 so they are raised and throw and beat.
And so on-
Does that make sense?
Perfectly especially as my brain is working today. That’s what I had thought but just wanted a brain push! Thank you
Yay!! Happy weaving! Hope your back gets better soon
this will be my 1st foray into 8 shaft. I have the turned twill warp on. I have a david loom- only 10 treadles.... will I be able to do this without the 11th/ 12th treadles for the framers?
Is this regarding season 5 turned twill episode? from what I can recall, you have to change tie ups depending on the towel that you are working on. None have more than 8 treadles tied up.
Season 7 turned twill also has 8 treadless tied up at any given time as well.
If you need more treadles than on your loom, try Tim's treadle reducer. I love the ease of it for more complicated color and weave sequences.
