I would like to make something for myself and was thinking of making a mobius shawl in Harrisville Shetland. Would this be a good fiber? What sett would you recommend?
Harrisville Shetland is not very skin soft in my opinion. I would use something with alpaca. I have made loads of blankets and I prefer alpaca. Jane’s Baby Alpaca would be a good choice.

I agree with Deb. The knitting yarn version of Harrisville Shetland (I think it's called Highland) is much softer.
That being said, I love my Harrisville Shetland blanket. I wove it at 10 epi and 10 ppi.
Thank you for your answers, I really didn’t know there were different Shetlands. I probably would be unhappy had I made a shawl from what I have.
Becky, I don't know if you'd be unhappy with the Harrisville Shetland as a shawl...it just wouldn't be very soft against your bare skin. It fulls nicely, but it's not soft like the Harrisville Highland.
