I left Arizona is May. My loom is in a room with a skylight. I moved it as far away as possible and covered the warp and the weaving already finished. Now I’m back at it, and the slub cotton yarn in the warp (probably about 15% of the warp) is separating on me at the slubs. This wasn’t happening in the spring. I have about 5 yards to go and because I’m using hand spun as my weft, I really don’t want to have to just give up. Any suggestions on a way to treat the cotton to keep this from happening?
Hi Sally,
OMG that is so frustrating! I haven't had this issue but I do remember Jane mentioning sizing on selvedges by making a paste of flour and water and applying to it. Maybe this would work for your threads that are separating on the loom. Then it would be just washing it off after you've finished weaving.
