Hi. I’m a newish weaver and must have miscounted warp threads as am shy 2 threads, discovered at end of threading. Should I just pull the 2 threads that are right now orphaned, add 2 threads, or thread the 2 orphaned threads (and if so, should I thread as planned on harnesses 1 and 2, or do 1 and 3?)

Could you provide more information? Is it an episode blanket? What is the weave structure?

Have you rechecked your threading and count? Mine are always at the beginning and I have to rethread again.

If you really are missing two, you could add two weighted threads over the back like you would with afterthought floating selvedge threads

Thanks NATO. It’s one of the blanket kits in the JST shop—Organic Cloud Baby Blanket. In the kit I have (from a few years ago), there are supposed to be 274 warp ends and I’ve got 272– I have recounted hoping I made an error.
I’m not confident re the weighted threads approach as haven’t done but if that’s the best approach, will pursue.

It’s not too hard. I’ve made soooooo many mistakes and at one point, I had over ten of weighted threads. The hardest part was keeping them from twisting together- I’ve used combs, cardboard with holes punched into them, bobbins threaded on knitting needles, etc to keep them somewhat organized.

You only have two. I have wound enough yardage for each thread onto a bobbin and used these small hair claw clips (like those clips you see on orchid stems) to hold the thread from winding off and hung s hooks to it with large washers to weight it.

You just have to unwind occasionally as you advance the warp.

I bought a second warp beam. Next time I mega goof, I’m going to experiment the missing threads on it.
