Hi there, I have a 45” Mira. I usually set up my raddle on top of the shafts with clamps. My last warp though was quite a bit wider than usual and I realized this set up wouldn’t work as the strings attached to the shafts were in the way. I found another post that said I could attach the raddle to my back beam but as this seems to be heading in the wrong direction I can’t wrap my head around how this would work. Advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
Hi Kelli -
I tie my raddle to the back beam with the ashford handy hands (torn t- shirt strips) as tight as I can after clamping it first. It works like a charm. Using a reed to pre-sley at back always keeps the threads in order and makes the rest of the threading process very quick and easy.. plus the added height of the raddle at back helps me get better tension. I love using one so much I’d never dream warping/weaving without one.
I love the Mira !
I have an Oxaback counter marche, which I adore.
Hope this helps and happy weaving!
Hi Lori, thanks for the reply. Are you dressing back to front?
Thanks
