Hubby mentioned something about buying facecloths. Really!
So l thought why not make facecloths using the towel patterns and stash from my shelves. Started on a narrower , shorter warp. First 2 cloths were too narrow, so added more warp on one side and black threads on outside. This was great way to sample. I had thought the double weave would be too thick and firm but it’s not. And the boucle is lovely. Just thought I would share. Thanks ladies & gents. Photo to follow.

Sue, are your facecloths double weave or colour and weave? I can't quite tell from the photos (which are splendid by the way).
What are the dimensions that you worked out to suit you?
Presume it is 8/2 cotton you worked with?
I think that you are on to a great stash busting, bobbin liberation scheme!!!!!

Hi Dianne
Just noticed your question! I don’t seem to be notified anymore when there is a new post in forums.
These are from the double weave, colour and weave pattern.
The finished facecloths are 11” square after washing, drying and hemming.
Great way to sample before doing a larger project and reduce stash at same time.

Thanks for your reply Sue. It is most helpful pointing me in the right direction, dimension-wise.
I had an offcut, end of warp piece which was too small for a hand towel and turns out not big enough for two facecloths. They are going to be the size of doilies after wet-finishing!!!!!
Still and all, I will find a use for them I am sure.
Next end of warp I will strive for the wet-finished dimensions you have mentioned.
