Hi, all:
I am making two sets of the hollyberry tea towels, in two different colors. How do I measure and tie on the warp? Do I simply do half of the length of the warp in each color, and then tie the second stripes to the end of the stripes on the first warp before I dress my loom? That seems a bit cumbersome, and I wondered if there is another way to do it. Thanks!
winding two separate warps for each kit is what I would do.
You could try warping front to back for the second kit a la the Mohair blanket Dummy Warp in Season 1 by tying on to the first warp once you are done with it. You wouldn't have to go thru the whole raddle spreading, threading, and denting. Just not sure how much warp you will have leftover from the first set of towels. will you have enough length to tie a knot to connect the two warps.
Hope this makes sense.
what does the kit say? How long of a warp are you suppose to wind? This is a purchased towel kit or pattern so unless one purchased it, one doesn't know what is involved.
Hi Rebecca,
Quick question, did you get 2 kits, one of each colour? If you did, you might want to make your warp according to the pattern (where it says 'dyed' that'll be for one colour only throughout that warp), weave those towels and then make your second warp in the other colour and tie on like nato mentions or re-dress your loom from the start again. Each kit is enough yarn to weave 4 towels.
Thank you! Each is plenty for four towels with some left over. I’ll do as you suggest, warp for the first, and then tie in the second. Thank you!
sounds great! Just re-reading my comment above where I say 'one colour only throughout that warp' what I meant with that, if you purchased the kit with the green, then where it says 'dyed' use the green for those threads only and the rest of the warp threads are Natural. Hope I didn't confuse you!
