I had been planning my first double-width project (wool tartan throw), and had planned on using 18/2 Merino and/or Zephyr. Now I've obviously waited too long to get my rear in gear as Jagger Spun is closing and their 18/2 Merino rapidly disappearing and Zephyr out of stock most everywhere. Technically I could spin it myself, but I am no where near consistent enough nor have the space/equipment to dye my preferred colors. Does anyone have any suggestions for substitutions? I do see that Jane carries a 16/2 Alpaca which could definitely work as weft for me. Thank you in advance for any recommendations.
Harrisville Shetland is a favourite with weavers weaving blankets! We have a good range of colours in stock and the throw you weave be durable and will last….. Can’t resist this comment but what yarn would be happier than a yarn named Shetland woven into a tartan throw ;-)
