Wouldn't it be wonderful if every weaving project went so flawlessly as presented in the videos? For us newbies that's our goal.
Then there's the reality for so many of us that we don't have an EWT (Emergency Weaving Trainer) that we can phone or have drop by to help when we're "in knots" over something that's not working.
However, it would be so very helpful to have a series of videos on "when things go awry"....i.e. loose tension, small shed, shed not clear, broken warp thread, heddles out of alignment, selvages uneven, etc, etc, etc...
Help us identify the problem, it's cause and the solution, please. Call it the Trouble Shooting Series.
Thank you.
Hi Susan - there are various ways to find answers to the questions you have on the School of Weaving.
Have you checked out our Index? It is updated every time a new episode is added to the School of Weaving and helps you find where Jane has covered a certain topic in all the episodes.. You'll find a link to that wonderful resources at the top of every School of Weaving webpage under Resources: https://help.schoolofweaving.tv/article/97-indexes
Our Knowledge Base can be found on our JST website and has Q&A's (including videos) that Jane has answered over her many years of teaching: https://janestaffordtextiles.com/knowledge-base/
Asking your question on the School of Weaving Forum or the JST Ravelry page will often get you the answer to your question. There are some awesome weavers, who are members of the School of Weaving and Ravelry, that are always willing to help a newbie with their particular problem. Jane and JST staff members regularly check both places to see if anyone is "stuck".
Your idea is an interesting one but ...... solving some issues are specifically loom related, and there are a lot of different types and makes of looms. The answers could be different depending on what loom you have ;-)
