Using my lazy Kates and M Brassard 8/2 cotton to warp. I position the boxes directly below my warping board so that my yarn comes straight up to the board. Yet I have constant issues with yarn falling off to the sides of the spools and wrapping around the sticks in the boxes. Suggestions, please. Thank you.
Hi Joane, try standing them up and see how that goes. So not on the lazy kate :)
It's been decades, but I remember adding rubber bands, wrapped tightly around the needles just at the point where they puncture through the box, to hold the needles firmly in place using friction. That allows to cone to rotate freely, but not the needle.. Alternatively, I expect you could try adding a couple rubber bands to the middle of the needle before you add your cone of yarn, so the cone rotates only as the needle rotates.
