So I am waiting for my Louet David 3 and from what I read, you need to put a warp on to balance out all the innards. It seems like some type of twill that uses all the shafts and pretty balanced on each shaft would be best. Do you have a suggestion for a first warp on the 10 dent reed?
I never heard that when I got my David 3 in June. It works fine as far as I can tell. My first warp was the asymmetry kit.
Why don’t you try a turned twill piece using all 8 shafts. You could use 8/2 cotton and 20 EPI, 2 per dent in your 10 dent reed?
Following this topic. I like the idea of doing a full 8 shaft weave. I have yet to try 8 shafts on my Jane 70cm loom.

You could do either S5 E1 or S6 E1 which are both turned twill. You will warp your David just the way I warp in Season 1. :)
I’d suggest Season 6 Ep 2. Pretty balanced. (And you’ll love the results).

For my first David 3 project, I warped up the Season 6, Epdisode 9 Block Analysis scarves. They are weaving up beautifully, and making loom adjustments was a breeze. Good luck and congrats on your new loom!
