Hello weavers
I just got my brand new spring 2 (8/110) from Holland this week, and I'm thrilled!!
There are no weaving retailers in Israel so I couldn't try any loom for a "test drive", but I've watched almost all the assembly videos I could find on Youtube to learn about each loom to learn how they are built.
I chose Louet spring.
I chose it because of your thorough and clear explanation about that loom, Jane. Your love for the loom got into me. (And the option of extending it to 12 shafts in future).
Moving from an 8 shaft table loom to a floor loom is a wonderful challenge!! Adding my legs into the process is not easy at first ( a lot of unweaving... 😀 )
but I'm on it.
I will send picture of the towels I weave on it (turned twill) along with pics of the Bamboo/silk scarf I asked you about (the last project of the table loom)

I have to chime in here because it was also Jane’s demonstration of the David III that sold me on that loom. I live on Orcas Island and a lot of travel would have to happen for me to test drive. I’m so glad we made the right choice. Have fun with your Spring, Alon!

I love Louet looms, and recently owned a David.90cm. I have done lots of research, and wondered whetherSchacht might offer a smaller, more flexible space option, but have homed in on the Spring 2. There seem to be so many negative comments about the difficulties of the tie up re physical capability at a more advanced age. Various tips are interesting but mostly seem to involve the need for a second person. Should I ignore the naysayers? Has anyone used the new Louet raising leg system with any success?
